Formed through the Chicago Police Department CAPS program with 7 families that had lost their children to senseless gun violence. The name Purpose over Pain was inspired by these parents’ relentless pursuit of solutions to gun violence as their purpose as they faced their pain.

The Illinois Crime Victim Compensation Program provides direct financial assistance to innocent victims of violent crime to reimburse out-of-pocket expenses related to the crime.
Gun Violence Survivors Foundation
The GVS Foundation exists to aid survivors and their families by providing resources and services, and to assist in the funding required to promote mental and emotional healing.
